and reviewed byTwo philosophers and an economist whose recent works are dedicated to the theoretician of socialism and communism were received on Sept. 16 at the agora of the Fête de l’Humanité, in the framework of its popular university.
Philippe Corduff, Isabelle Garo and Paul Boccara spoke on stage to an enthusiastic and informed public about their work and their reflections, and to share their convictions with the people attending the Fête. All three avoided official historiography and religious-style thinking to discuss a thinker from whom we have inherited relevant tools for analyzing the times we live in and for attempting to transform them. Their rejection of all fossilized and official thinking invites us to continually reinvent Marx. Whether it be the place of the individual, the relationship between the individual and social life, ecology, or the battle of ideas, all say that Marx continues to speak to us and pushes us to get rid of capitalism.
