Life happens...

Translated Tuesday 17 March 2015, by Sonia Govindankutty

Editorial by Jean-Emmanuel Ducoin. "It is absolutely abhorrent to see the likes of Hollande, Valls, Macron and others fuss about matters far removed from issues that are of real concern to the vast majority of the common people and and in the process, further trample upon the values of the left every passing day."

Misconception very often proves to be worse than ignorance. Just eleven days remain before the first round of local (departmental) elections and it looks as if the government in power has already decided to disregard what is, in fact, its primary responsibility - social unity, the future of a strong Republic solid on its founding principles and above all, the lives of people, the dignity of the weakest sections...

It is absolutely abhorrent to see the likes of Hollande, Valls, Macron and others fuss about matters far removed from issues that are of real concern to the vast majority of the common people and and in the process, further trample upon the values of the left every passing day. No matter that the vast majority of those who are forward thinking have been clamoring for measures to revive the economy and for a genuine policy shift aimed at employment creation. The repressive measures of the government continue to be in full swing, in the form of austerity programs and socially regressive reforms which thankfully have been challenged, if not demolished, even by the Socialist ranks. By furthering social despair, Manuel Valls has only added to voter abstentions, a practice that he vehemently decries by making a hue and cry about Front National’s possible win. A stalemate often leads to political madness but the reverse is true as well. This time, add schizophrenia too to the mix.

It is just as how it happens in a divorce. The abandoned partner always accuses the one who has walked out of being completely at fault and routinely refuses to examine his/her own conscience, or to summon the courage to analyse his/her own responsibility in the light of her actions, to see how and why the trust was broken. This is the present state of affairs with the Left who have for a long time known fully well what now resembles a babble - a small hope followed by a massive disappointment! All the while citizens’ concerns have been ridiculed and extreme liberals have been lauding the Macron Law as a symbol of sacrifice...To quote John Lennon, ’Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans’. No doubt, Hollande and Valls must be truly busy indeed not to look out for those who crowned them kings.
