Since its last congress (2013) the French Communist Party (PCF) “is drafting its policy”. After conventions on Europe and industry, the National Council decided to up the pace and is launching its national convention on policy. It will take place this Wednesday, 20 May, at the national headquarters in Paris. The PCF indicates that “the text will be presented with the aim of dealing with strategy, obstacles and prospects found along the path [it] proposes for France”. In the text, its key issues are the “credible and unifying breaking from liberal politics. To get away from austerity and the crisis [...] in a complex and dangerous political period, many of our fellow citizens are ready to build an alternative left”. In this context, “this text is a starting point from which to build confidence, to build interest in engaging in this collective task”, the PCF explains.
